Mission
To make childhood cancer a state health priority and give all Kentucky children access to the latest in cancer research and treatment — with less toxicity — while encouraging psychosocial support and focus on the complicated issues of long-term survivorship.
We believe in KY cures for KY kids and investing in the future of our children while simultaneously investing in the KY economy. Key areas of focus include combining epidemiologic and genetic research to understand the higher incidence of certain types of pediatric brain tumors in KY kids; recruitment of disease-specific pediatric cancer researchers tasked with translation of research findings into development of clinical trials utilizing molecularly targeted therapies combined with existing conventional treatments; radiomics; improving integrative care approaches for adolescents with pediatric-type cancers; and expansion of efforts to further basic science and clinical research in cellular therapy and other immune based treatment strategies.
Our Vision: To serve as an umbrella organization to organize all pediatric cancer work across the state. It is not designed to compete with other organizations but to augment and elevate collaborative efforts; to serve as a reservoir of information so that all efforts are amplified through an organized channel eliminating silos and fostering innovation with compassion and collaboration.
